 Just as I thought I wrote the perfect code, and I put it to test. Just as I thought I would get a perfect results but nothing turned up. The program took a few minutes to load… I changed code and test here and there still nothing turned up as I have changed… Point to the wrong IP… Load the wrong IP. That’s the downside of alternative days wfh. And different devices and places. Hm… Config is important. Anything wrong, check config, not code first.

 I met the old lady again. So, not scam lah. She didn’t ask for money today. Sometimes, I wonder what life is all about. If I lived up to her age, being woman, being elderly would be really scary.  Scam has definitely affect everyone daily like never before. When my cousin got my number and wants to connect, she put a photo on whatsapp’s profile photo and also sent me her picture to verify she wasn’t a scammer. The fact is that scammers did that too. In fact the more professional the photo was, the more likely it is a scam. When I applied a job, I will also worry it is a scam. Especially no email and I cannot find much on the internet. The only thing that makes the interview sounded right was the interview ways of speaking and a more lifelike profile picture. I chose to believe it and if it hadn’t post on mycareersfuture, I wouldn’t have believe the job was legal when email has problem. I thought email was always the sign of legitimate business or scam. In 2024, anyone can doubt now. I can receive a legitimate email or message that was scam and also non-legitimate as not scam… How inconvenient so I treated all as a scam. Better safe than sorry.  Today, I started off with a strange encounter. Everything was fine. I got up early like 6:00 am. Shower and get dressed. Everything was packed up last night. Managed to get breakfast without queue. Then as I was crossing the road, I saw a car like don’t know parking or approaching. I walked slower so the car can see me and the old lady. It was until then I realised the old lady was talking to me. She just walked beside me talking smoothly I thought she was talking with somebody else. I looked around, nobody. She was talking to me so I har?? She repeated her sentence. “Jie jie, Jie jie, ke yi gei wo qian mai dong xi chi ma” (Sister, can give me money to buy food” I was like what?  Maybe I accepted this job really too early. I have applied to some jobs but there were no reply… So I just tell myself to accept any job that accept me first. After I accepted and signed the offer, somehow people called and emailed to ask if I am still available… Some are pretty good company. However, I also worry they just ask only and when I apply, then it is all test and interviews. I couldn’t sleep after receiving the message. It does seem like I have been too early to accept. I cannot be greedy also. As for this job, the nature of it is a bit different than I thought. The good part is some parts I never done before. Like low level programming. The last time was like Year 1 of Uni and my time at NTU for micro-controller. It was a mess and I barely passed it. Anyway, just see how this job goes.  I think singapore buses are not use to pick up passengers but to race through traffic light. It has been quite frequent to see two buses passing at the same time or within close interval. I just saw one bus passing and few seconds later, another passed. Then you waited 10-15 minutes the least for another bus. Some bus just raced through because the bus was totally empty with no one alighting. Some just raced through when they saw green traffic light ahead. Is that even sustainable? A bus without anyone in it while another was so full. It looked especially bad when the interval was so close between this bus while the next was longer and also full of people. So the one bus that carries nobody was wasting the resource… They should have looked at the distribution of the bus not based on mileage but the passengers they carry. It wasn’t only my house but also at my workplace. Saw two buses rushed through quite frequently. Late at night, both buses were empty somemore.

 I wondered why many people go against SimplyGo. At first, I wasn’t use to the screen without remaining amount but I learnt to check the balance on my phone app. I have been topping up from my phone ever since topping up with app becomes available. I skipped queue at the machine and also not paying additional 50 cents if topping up on ATM machines. If your amount is not enough but can see on screen, you ended up with blocking people entering. For people who are already using it with the app, the amount is available on your phone. For people who don’t have the app, you can always ensure the amount with the top up machine. If not enough, you still need to make a move to the top up machine. It is basically the same thing. You won’t always know the amount without the app. For instance, the station double charged you, it will reflect on the app if you have it. You can view all your transactions on the phone.  I stabbed my hand before with a scissors. Also same left hand! I just realised when I looked at the scars. I was cutting the strap holding on to my water bottle. It made washing difficult so I just wanted to cut it away but the material was too good. Normally how I used the knife and finally my scissors, it wouldn’t cut through. I guess I grew impatient and one wrong move, it slipped through the bottle and onto my palm. Ow… I think that was when I got my interview for my first software engineering job.  I finished doing my wallet without cutting myself. I got a poke from the needle though but it was alright. Only that one time. The rest I found a way to prevent that. I have cut away the tape but the tape side sick to the wall so I pulled it and I couldn’t remember but just felt sharp pain on my left palm. My left hand gave way after the cover flipped open and the knife on the right hand slashed my palm. Sigh, I should have close it before pulling the cover.  The difference between a full-timer and part-timer was only 8 days. Let’s say I worked 16 days (at least 4 days per week) and most full-timer worked 24-25 days. 7 rest days. One month got maximum 31 days and so the most days will be 24 days exclusive of OT but I also OT. Sigh… Also, they have MC and AL.  Some people just want to use your mistake for their own benefits. Else who will foot the bill for the crime. Yet, if this is the only way, a person who steal will always find ways to steal.  Made my own wallet today but still not done yet. Probably just 70% done. I think it’s the poorest workmanship quality… but I am making one for myself and a proof of concept. I have been making paper ones just to get the design right. Still more improvement needed. It was in the middle of the night so I tried to do it quietly so instead of hammering, I pressed it to get holes for sewing… However, that is really really troublesome. I wanted to finish it in one go but it’s 3am… Half finished product. Well, the holes were in perfect places. I am lucky with the measurements that each holes of the sewing matched the dimension if the wallet. I was amazed at my own skills without doing calculations. 

 Going out with Aunty will be like when you said we are going to set off at 3pm, would mean 2pm. I was going to do grocery shopping and Aunty said she can go too. I wanted to avoid the crowd and decided to go out at 3pm. While I was doing other stuff and before 2pm, I can see her dressed up and watching TV. Her bag was on the table. When we said meet at 6pm, she wanted to be there by 5pm. Haha. So next time if I wanted to go out with her, I have to add another hour because she would be an hour earlier. My mum would be the exact opposite though. When we said going out at 3pm, we would probably be out around 5 or 6pm. She would see plants and started taking care of them. Meals not eaten. She would have to shut off all the electricity and locked all the doors. We have many lights and doors at home. She would realized she has tons of things not done when we wanted to go out.  Our security has been like good people cannot pass through and then bad people kept on passing through. Good people cannot remember their password but bad people can easily know your password. Even if good people pass through without any obstacles, they won’t be detrimental to the system however, no matter how much security you have, once a bad person slipped in, you die. Bad person will think all the ways possible to get in. When security check, they will judge first which is already a wrong judgment. Suppose a person looked suspicious, maybe cultural difference or just simply look suspicious but actually means no harm, gets all the attention and finally after all the scrutiny managed to pass through and still get eyes on them. Meanwhile, a bad person that doesn’t look suspicious at all already slipped in, celebrating with a big unknown chaos. Then walked away.  Wanting to make my own wallet, I decided to buy the tools. Well, I managed to get most materials. Normally I would receive a package and also notification. This is the first time I didn’t receive but the status was changed. I have too many so maybe I overlooked. I reported it to Shopee on the 9th of Jan and pretty concerned because last month my sis also has one package of nuts gone missing. She never received but stated delivered by qoo10. She bought it for our mum to bring back for cny. Qoo10 said they needed a month to investigate. I was pretty worried I wouldn’t see my tools again. Just now, a knock on the door brought hope with it. I opened the door to find the guy with my lost package. He sent to the wrong house. Just within one day they managed to find it so pretty well done. Probably the tools also not somebody would like to take. You need the whole lot of other tools along with it to make things work. Finding back lost tools, relieved.  Still.. Anyway, if you can hire people who come to smoke, eat and playing with the phone and only worked like one hour for people to go take a break, like each person half an hour and sometimes lesser. Then just the last one hour to close up. Then actually 3 people working will do. Especially no lock cage. If got lock cage then 2 people come do 2 hours work. I don’t see price tag being print for the product I put up from the lock cage. Stuff that was empty was still empty. Like whole day nobody do store. So, when someone on store duty not doing work with no lock cage. Wait for me to do the rest of the days no need to do anything. How good.

 3:00pm start work. Just started counter. Ok. Then going out saying to do lock cage. Ok. He sat outside scrolling his phones. I back to do the price tag and back. 10 mins. Still playing with the phones. Ok. I continued to mine to see how long he can do. Anyway, he when I passed by in another 5 mins, he was gone. Counter long queue. Nowhere to be found. 3:30pm back, he managed to push a lock cage right in front but nothing was done yet. He back to counter because the other cashier wanted to do her pastry. Then after pastry done. He was here and there well, I cannot see what he did since I am doing the pricetag. I also tired to look. Well, he looked at the chiller’s tank but didn’t took it out to pour.  Last month draws a conclusion. Absolutely there’s cigarette theft. That is what I wanted to find out.  Left hand was better now. Right hand was progressing but still painful when I stressed it with weight. I must have a bad posture while doing the cleaning. It just get numb when I hold my phone or write something. Even when holding mouse. Typing was ok. I managed to fix my mouse anyway. Tips. Take out the batteries from devices if you are not going to use it. I have extra mouse that I don’t use after I have my ergonomic ones. When I needed it for another laptop, I figured it wouldn’t work because it hasn’t been in use for the past year and the battery was leaking and rusting. Have to open up the thing and clean. It worked anyway and I got the tools. I knew someday I can use it and I wasn’t wrong. It was too expensive to throw away so I never did. I got it before ergonomic mouse. Even though it is an ergonomic mouse but the other one that I have was even more ergonomic. 

  Not totally done but for the moment it worked better. Hard to find a tray this size.   New hobby in progress. Going to make something that I want but nobody has it. The type of wallet that I want. I will do when my hands felt better. Already numb a few days and yesterday after cleaning all the shelfs, my whole arms aches throughout my sleep. Only this morning it got better. Going to take a nap from waking up to feel the arms pain. It is numb and painful at the same time. How?

  I used to disagree… because I can envy people without causing harm. I think envy is a good thing for me so I strived to be better. However, I guess I saw the real meaning now. Disharmony comes from envy. Somebody dislike our pump attendants getting tips. Trying to find fault with them. Remember if the other way round, you will got it too. I do believe they deserved the money. Why? because if you wear safety shoes and stand outside in the hot weather, it was the worst feeling. I wore safety shoes but in a clean room though. Your feet like not yours especially while standing. Sitting down still not bad. I guess that is enough hardwork however, work attitude wise, I don’t really know whether it was done well or not but if customer gave tips, I believed they did well. I trust hardworking people but not the one who can cause harm to others. Everyone deserves better for their hardwork. If you played tricks, you will get karma in the end.  Sometimes I just have strange dreams and when I had one, I buy 4d from the number I saw in my dream.  Yesterday, after making thing to tidy up my table and also testing the tools that I just bought to make something feels great but tiring. Managed to make something because the thing that I wanted doesn’t exist in the market. I guess only I would need it. Like a storage tray in a drawer for two laptops. I have 3 so two others needed to be inside the drawer when one in use. My hp laptop is going to be 5 years old I guess. Bought it for my daily use but after the battery go bad, I replaced it. It is still usable but when I updated the system, it became a bit quite dodgy. I guess the hardware weren’t stable from all my opening. I have to disable to in-built keyboard and a bit of difficulty when turning on. Not charging as the replacement battery gone bad too soon. I haven’t been using it since I got the MacBook.
