I have been checking in now and then. If it was idle for sometimes, the button took a bit longer to respond and if there is a connection, it will be directing to that page. However if there is no connection, it will show network error… Or I shall leave it there idling for 3 days then click? hm… Or it lost wifi connection…. ahhh. but I can remote in… if lost wifi… hm… ya. I haven’t try that. It does take longer with wifi but there will be pop up. I cannot test remotely though. Once I turned off wifi meaning I can’t enter anymore… argh… next week bah. If it is pc suddenly not enough resources, it could be. Event viewer showed Cross Process Window Is Idle. It says it stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. That was when I tried to close it. It then hanged the Windows for a while. … Asked to check problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel… Not allowed to check but error thrown because of some update and group policy issues… I think .NET wasn’t windows friendly… Ok. I found the error. There is a Windows update that afternoon. My app was there in the Morning… It was then like that until Wed. So not pop up issues… Sigh…. Wasted my time. Next time read beyond the error message. The update also failed… Hm… Since I never had the freeze issue, I checked Task manager before that… should be that. Anyway, if it is, should be able to replicate. But so far it doesn’t. I tried within a day and at most it will take a few seconds to react but if it has been in used, it is instant. I didn’t change the software but I have been changing some logs just to see if it made a difference on my current version. If not my app issue then I have been changing in vain… for nothing… a solution for no problem…. shit
Sigh… since only one time, now let it be there and let people trigger that app hang again. Eventually later on still need to use my current one. Although just changed in log and make sure don’t have too many throw…. I am more worried with no throw at all. An issue can just passed by unnoticed. The pop up will still occur and at that point of time if already have something wrong and then not resolve but continue to use it, cannot guess what.. More troublesome.
Another finding. When I disconnected my own wifi. My vpn dropped. Then now I connected my wifi. So, my application still has access to API but it doesn’t have vpn to communicate with db. I can then see even longer “freeze” screen. Until the db throw an error and the pop up appear. More likely that. Or back to the update issue.
I close it by using the TaskBar. If hanged only Task Manager can close it
Wanted to ignore…. but no meaningful finding online…
If anything, I won’t learn also. Since any finding was normally kept quiet. Nothing will come out good from such collaborations. A lot of copy and paste without understanding. Repeating old mistakes…. This wpf drawn nuts.
