Weird day

A traffic police was paying for his things. Right then, a family of three came in and queue behind the police. The kid saw the police and exclaimed to his parents, "Look! America Police!". So cute. Nope, the are Singapore Police. The police did look around to look at the kid but still in a friendly face. The kid was like 4 - 5 years old. Can't tell. Some kids were taller and some were shorter. I go by average.
Another family was there at the next counter paying their stuff. Then I heard a kid telling the cashier next to me, "Thank you, bye bye!". Hehehe. Good kid.
While a lady was paying at my counter, her kid saw the knitted flower on the counter beside me. He took one and ask how much was it. He then hold it dearly and said he wanted it and liked it. He was like 7-8 years old I guess. I guess I weren't young to like that hahaha because my mum can make it. My mum can knit a bag with handle or as desk mat with patterns. hm.. The kid was sweet though to like such things.
Good parenting I guess. The mum just asked him to put it back then after paying for the fuel, the kid just put it back and followed her. Haha. No tantrum, no screaming at the top of the lungs, and it is as if nothing has ever happened. Same to the other kids who put things back after the parents said no. They will come trotting with chocolates, candy, chips and etc to the counter and ask their parents to buy. The Dad usually said no. Hahaha. Not all though, some took and ask his kids if they wanted it. Some bought one to shut the kid up. hehehehe.
Most of the time, I cannot see the kids because their height is well below the counter's height.
Yesterday's night after work, I went to McDonalds. I am hungry for it and the next day, I don't have work. As I got up the escalator, I saw a caucasian kid sat on the floor with flushed face. About four police were around him. The floor was a mess. Not sure what happened. Looked like the kid threw up there and/or caused a scene. McDonald's and other foods were scattered. Not sure if that belonged to the police or the kids. I heard the kid shouted before getting up to the level but stopped as I walked by along with a group of people who stood by watching what's happening. Two of the polices were brushing something off their pants as if something was thrown at them. I think to better stay out of trouble. The kid was like 12 - 14 years old. Teenager or could be younger. Caucasians are usually taller. Could he be drunk too. Else, what explained such behaviour?? hm
I ordered via mobile app and sat there waiting for like 15 minutes. My food came. As I prepare to eat, I heard, "Let me go! Let me go!". I turned around the kid was escorted by two police officer cuffed. He kept on saying, "Let me go!" while they walked down the hallway. Another two police officers were walking in front of them. First time, I saw these! I think he attacked the police as well.
I quickly finished my stuff and went home. I have ordered Mother's day cake before going to work. Today I went to collect the cake and they gave me a pink rose. Great! I went home and wait for Aunty and Uncle to come home. Put the mask I bought from Sephora on the table nicely. Earlier on I was buying face mask... She asked me to buy and I thought she wanted those. In the end, it was facial mask... hehe. While waiting, I was thinking to get my old laptop an update. The HP spectre x360 got a pen which worked like last month, didn't work now when I wanted to use it.... SAD. I thought if that could be due to Windows 11 update since it only happened after that. I just changed the battery like few months ago. The last battery lasted a few years. I looked for the other battery that I bought along with this battery. There were two in a packet. I only needed one. After I changed to the spare battery, it still didn't work. Whatever that is, I ended up uninstalling drivers and reinstalling. Restarting and updating. Googled everywhere. Few hours gone and they were back. I have a small celebration and we, only 3 people, finished the 6 inches cake. hehehehe... We never had lunch though. First time finishing a cake in a go. It was a Mango Pineapple cake. It tasted better than I think. The ones that look good normally disappointed me a bit.
I planned to go Botanical Garden with them in the evening but then the laptop still not fixed. It just doesn't work, and I was questioning myself why? No obvious answers from HP themselves even though there are people asking the same question. I changed the pen tip too. It didn't work. How do it know it is a driver's issue, OS incompatibility issue, digitizer's issue, or the pen itself no longer works. OR it could be the battery too. The last one I will know after I bought the battery. What if it was everything else and the battery will go to waste if I bought them. It always come in pair and if nothing else worked with a 4As' battery. How to tell it was battery issue without buying a new one. It then dawned on me, if my new battery was actually faulty as well, it wouldn't work too. I have been too focus on fixing it that I felt stupid. I have a multimeter to begin with. Ashamed that I have been measuring batteries' voltage for my last job more than the meals I had in life. I don't also have one multimeter at home. I have two.... I took one out and my knowledge still a bit rusty. The one at work was already set up for measurement and much better. Home one, I need to set up myself. Well, somehow, I remembered and with a bit of the Youtube help, I managed to get the voltage of the battery. FLAT. The new battery was FLAT! It was new... but unused for like few months. Guess what you get is what you paid for. I used the other multimeter to confirm. The cheaper multimeter this time give more accurate results though. 1.5V gave me 1.65V. The more expensive one somehow ranged from 1.6++ to 4.0++ for a perfectly new 2As battery. Both gave below 1V for the battery which I considered faulty after measurement. Maybe the weather or shelf life over. Shorted or it runs out. Sigh... Waste time. Now need to waste money. Should I get a rechargeable ones or one without....

Amount

The amount I spent on learning before applying actually costed me more money until I do enough work. Still learning process is still needed even while working.  Doing things subconsciously can make the easiest problem complicated. Could be your old habits or subconscious typing or the auto correction? hm.. This one is more like my habit. It is a hard to catch error when we did like that. I was thinking what goes wrong and no matter what I did, it would not return my desired results. Turned the code that I wrote previously and just a line only which I overlooked while checking, was blocking the rest of the changes… Dangerous code is the counter code that you wrote to right a wrong or blocking the wrong from working. That’s normally a temporary solution but the solution turned out to be preventing me doing other works… sigh… 😮‍💨  Today’s a lucky day and I found it while doing another part… so it is good not to always focus on one problem. The other problem could be the c...

Tools and Work

Things I bought for work. Another addition of $18.60 to the lost count of things that I bought for work. USB C to HDMI adapter has ARRIVED. Previously, I bought a hoco. and it is working fine still but too bad Shopee and Lazada don’t have them. I bought UGREEN then. I am attracted to name with colours on it. Hehe. Need one at the office so that I have less thing to carry back and fro of home. I bought another ergonomic mouse. My hand could go numb from using the mouse. Actually I have hand numb issue since young. Writing makes my hand numb. Not sure if that is normal but I do practice. I am not entirely sure if that is right hand only. When I used my left, I can write for a long long time even though the hand writing looks bad.  Bought soldering iron and tools set. Bought HDMI to mini port display x 3. One not working anymore and that’s why I bought another 2 (UGREEN $7.48 and IVANKY) because the working laptop needed it to display on another monitor. Bought a portable monito...

hmmmm

Keyboard warrior's keyboard checked. Another Jean checked. It is to make up for the pants that I spoiled two days ago. Just when I arrived at the office, I sat on a chair whereby the surface is grid-like and the  buttoned-up fake pocket button on the right side got plucked off leaving a hole a bit on the upper side of the bum. There is a flap that was together with the button. It just covers the hole a bit. I am not sure if the slit that the button goes through was big enough to see through. I tried to ensure my shirt was over the hole though at least to cover while I was not seated. It wasn't a good time. I was wondering should I just walk off to buy another pants but decided not to because we were busy. That went on for the rest of the day. A day to remember. The pants lasted 10 years. I bought it during my first job at 2011. Anyway, it was a bit tight around the waist so shouldn't have worn it at all. Although I am a bit heavier, my waist is a bit off only. I wonder if m...
