Dad was at his worst condition. Everything also got problem. Cholesterol, blood pressure, diabetes, joint & muscle pain, haemorrhoid, no teeth, bent knees and dried, bruised skin. To me, it was all weathered. Only his eyesight improved because he went for surgery. His hips also fine now after surgery. Knees however, he decided not to go. From long ago, he said his arms also painful. He went to doctor and get all sorts of medication. I wonder if you are being well taken care of, wouldn’t you be at a better shape?
I couldn’t find the blood pressure measurement machine. The one I sent back since I got it for free from company because I am still working on site during covid period and I am not using it. I only seen it once in a picture. Suppose to help my Dad with measurements. The blood glucose bought by my older brother was already spoilt. I tried it last week and it wasn’t accurate anymore like only used few times and was in the shelf forever. It wasn’t accurate anymore a 2015 model. I tried looking for it cause Dad was just discharged. After all that bleeding, Dad sometimes confused himself. Repeated things after I have just answered him. Like buying a solar fan. We have a blackout after I tried to use the new rice cooker. Without aircon, he couldn’t stand the heat. I went to buy one but didn’t buy because if I joined member, I could get 30% discount after 7pm. It was Gawai so there were sales everywhere. If not, it will only be 20% off. There is 50% discount to join membership too and last day as well. So bad things lead to good things. I told him I didn’t buy because of it then after few minutes or every hour or whenever I left the house to buy things, he reminded me I have to buy solar fan… Also the lawn mower. I spoilt the one that my mum bought like decade ago. The motor burnt. Almost all parts were loosen or cracked already. I managed to mow the whole place twice and a half.
Dad also planted a lot of trees and plants. He went to water them around 5:30pm. It was still very sunny. As stubborn as he is, I let him be. While checking out the blood glucose tester that I just bought, I found the needles not inclusive to the package. Only 5 pcs there… I wanted to go out buying new ones when suddenly I heard Mum calling out my name repeatedly even though I asked her what while on my way out. I couldn’t tell which side of the house she called from also. Good thing the house wasn’t soundproof too. After I reached the door, it was from the left side of the house. Found her holding Dad who was lying on his side. His back, if rolled to his back would land himself into the drain. Apparently, he fell down. I do not know how. He tripped either by the hose or the drain with the grass side uneven ground, or he tripped on the drain. I told him not to pull it till there but he didn’t remember probably. The front has another hose… so no need the hassle. I rushed over and sat him up but he couldn’t sit like that because of his hips. In the end, I pulled him up to his legs. He managed to stand up while Mum get him a chair for him to rest a bit first before moving again. Lucky it was the grass side he fell on and not the pavement or the drain. He got a graze on his left ankle. His balancing has been bad ever since he was discharged from hospital. Sometimes Dad makes me think of humpty dumpty. It was all fine and then he was like all broken. Only the facade that he kept was ok. One time, he woke up and asked me to give him my ic and birth cert so that he can add my name to the house. He asked again and again but I told him, I didn’t bring it with me. Some midnight, he woke once and out to the living room and asked me about it… I slept in living room for now until I can get a bed and the room tidied up.
After his discharge, he has been a bit more clumsy too. After fixing his wound, I told him I needed to get the needles for the blood glucose tester. I went out for like 10 - 15 minutes. I came back and asked if he was ok. He changed his pajamas and was lying down on the bed. He told me not ok cause he cut his hand. He tried to open the window to ask my Mum who was outside to water the plant from where he left off. Mum still planting and clearing grass outside… The window safety grill with some pattern but with sharp edges and his skin also quite thin. I asked if it was a big cut and he said he plastered them already. I took a look. He did put a plaster but I think should clean the wound. I took the plaster off and it was about 1.5-2.0cm long. It was still bleeding but not much. Sigh… Already bruised surrounded the wound. I just managed to make his arms looked nice but he kena again… One time by the door. This time window. Previously also a window… why can’t workmanship be good? I have so many things to change. Anyway, I myself also got cut quite a lot here too. Mum also injured herself but mainly from her tools while planting. I bought wound cleanser and wound healing gel. Quite convenient but hope that is enough. The amount of money I spent on medication and wounds were quite a lot. Could reach hundreds if not a thousand. Cough syrup, lotion, wounds and flu.
Also one night after discharge, Mum suddenly woke me up to find medication. I gave her and she gave Dad. It was like 2am. Dad also felt itchy. He said it was so itchy all over. I gave him the itchy medicine 1 doctor gave. After like 2 hrs, I found him trying to open the front door. He retorted that I should give him all the medication from his skin specialist. I told him Doctor said to wait 10 days before eating those medication again. He is still having the medication from the hospital for rectum bleeding. I said it wasn’t in the car also. He complained he was itching all over and he needs the medication. He also got an injection to stop bleeding from the skin specialist the day before. Probably worn off already. I gave him the other medication which the doctor told me to only eat when required. I worried it was the blood transfusion he got from the hospital. He has 6 bags. If there is any side effects that could be life threatening, I don’t know but the nurse did told us if felt anything strange can tell them… I somehow only know the last day but before that they never tell. I looked all over online and it should be emergency if he is elderly and has a bit of rashes and itching uncontrollably. I checked back on him around 5am. I didn’t hear snoring outside the door so I opened the door and asked if he still feel itchy. If he still felt itchy, I need to bring him to emergency. He rejected and said I disturbed his sleep. Anyway, I went back to look for more info. Everything told me to bring him to emergency. I asked him a second time and he rejected again. When I said the least we should do is a blood test. Making sure his red blood cell count was ok. The clinic is free since he is senior citizen and can claim.. So early morning we went for breakfast, and he like before 6am already woke up and said he couldn’t sleep anymore. Dad was seldom like that. He feels sleepy all the time. maybe all the medication causing drowsiness has been helping him to sleep. After stopping, he don’t always feel sleepy. Since he slept during daytime, night time will be difficult. I brought him for breakfast and went to the clinic nearby as early as possible. Good that they opened and it was a holiday.. Get his blood glucose and pressure tested only. Didn’t manage to do blood test as it was holiday and blood test not available but the doctor managed to check his blood pressure ok. Blood glucose a bit high. He said no immediate attention required but should go back to the hospital where he got his blood transfusion. Need to update them and also get treated if necessary… Now he is in between. Sometimes ok, sometimes not ok. We all get diarrhoea back in Bandar. For me and mum probably because of yoghurt. We ate them at night after dinner. For Dad could be the Salmon or the chicken soup. I reheated it from afternoon… probably the room temp was too high that food can no longer kept till dinner… Still haven’t got the time to go hospital to ask for the report and also to feedback… I also felt sleepy all the time. One thing because of Dad and another thing, my mum lost her iPad, have to look back at the camera recordings… AI should work on this. To view my camera for me. When i searched for iPad, it will give me the last recording. Please.
His blood pressure probably also caused his blood not stopping. The doc gave him saline drip. Blood flowed out instead of saline flowed in. probably also nurse fault? Anyway, it was like going around closing my eyes. Couldn’t tell the glucose level and also blood pressure. Afternoon I brought him to pharmacy to buy new ones. the second time when I get the needles after seeing him fell down, I decided to buy the blood pressure measurement machine. pocket burnt but at least I can monitor and have more peace of mind. If the old one still have, then each house can have one without having to pack while moving between. Save time. Now still a lot to save time.
