Offline

 When the computer thinks only it can go offline. Cashier can also offline. Some customers were evil and some were very angels. I mean treating people with respect and also pay for what they have taken. I admit that sometimes I am careless and if I get scolded probably it made me felt ok. However when I wasn’t scolded but customers reminded me if I had scanned the items, I felt guilty for them to pay for my mistakes. These customers were truly good beyond what service was given. However, some were real bad. Trying to cause problem.

Today, there is this one customer, who cannot pay for the fuel and the items… The counter was hold with a transaction because after pressing payment or after card scan, the transaction can no longer be voided. Half an hour gone… To our dismay, our system have been offline for almost the whole day. I started work at 3pm but was already down before that. Every transaction was real slow to the core. No refund or going back to view transaction if it was offline. I think it was back to online when it was around 9pm… This person already knew the queue was long and our system slow. I guess he purposely try to cause problem. You have a voucher but you want to use points. Then kept on saying go Caltex next time. He came in with the vouchers page shown and asked me what to use. Then asked me if 1 dollars can be used. I said only one type of voucher then the whole story change to I wanted to use point in the first place. Anyway, it was chaos as the line was long and the system offline and the guy from the other counter still cannot manage to pay. I think he also saw me going back and forth between counters and therefore just want to make a fuss that I didn’t pay much attention to him. 78 year old Cashier said she pay for him so life goes on then tmr he will come back to pay… Cashier job is bad. Kept on paying for customer. What the heck with a rigid system. Whatever it was, cashier pays… Another few days to go. System after reported the problem and still not fixed. It has been one month or two since it first started. I guess somebody left some bugs in it. There were 3 I found that could be considered severe. Anyway, they just think it was cashier fault. Probably. I bet the cashiers have been put to blame for everything despite some wasn’t theirs to begin with. However, if there is a bug that cannot be solved, training should be given on how to avoid the bugs from creating errors.

Everytime I saw really tall people, I felt like they are galloping away instead of walking away… Their leg was so long. It relates to giraffe so much whenever I saw them, I would think about giraffe. How our genes managed to give someone such a long leg and why someone has body length longer than their legs… I always observed their ratio. If body length is longer, does it mean our organs are bigger? hm… 

One kid was shopping with his mum. I was arranging things and then he was like asking his mum repeatedly and excitingly, “I want to buy, Mummy!”. The mummy just replied, “You already have a mummy. Mummy is here.” I felt the adorableness. So funny.

Some kids were like taking things but not enough money… I don’t know what to say. Probably their parents don’t allow them to buy ice cream or candies. Like me when I was younger. Our store price was on the high side and if really no money, it wasn’t a place they will stop by. Like if I don’t have enough money, I buy cheaper things. However, I also look at durability. If it can last long, I will sacrifice some money from other spending to invest in it. I am tired.

I really hope the thing can be resolved and everyone has a happy ending.

Tools and Work

 Things I bought for work. Another addition of $18.60 to the lost count of things that I bought for work. USB C to HDMI adapter has ARRIVED. Previously, I bought a hoco. and it is working fine still but too bad Shopee and Lazada don’t have them. I bought UGREEN then. I am attracted to name with colours on it. Hehe. Need one at the office so that I have less thing to carry back and fro of home. I bought another ergonomic mouse. My hand could go numb from using the mouse. Actually I have hand numb issue since young. Writing makes my hand numb. Not sure if that is normal but I do practice. I am not entirely sure if that is right hand only. When I used my left, I can write for a long long time even though the hand writing looks bad.  Bought soldering iron and tools set. Bought HDMI to mini port display x 3. hmmmm

Keyboard warrior's keyboard checked. Another Jean checked. It is to make up for the pants that I spoiled two days ago. Just when I arrived at the office, I sat on a chair whereby the surface is grid-like and the  buttoned-up fake pocket button on the right side got plucked off leaving a hole a bit on the upper side of the bum. There is a flap that was together with the button. It just covers the hole a bit. I am not sure if the slit that the button goes through was big enough to see through. I tried to ensure my shirt was over the hole though at least to cover while I was not seated. It wasn't a good time. I was wondering should I just walk off to buy another pants but decided not to because we were busy. That went on for the rest of the day. A day to remember. The pants lasted 10 years.
